Innovation and Development
R&D efforts started in Terumo Penpol (then Peninsula Polymers Limited) right from inception. PENPOL won the National Award in 1999 from the Government of India for successful development and commercialization of Indigenous Technology for blood bags. Materials development was the core area of work related to blood bags A development team for Medical equipment was established along with Medical Systems Group.

Innovation and Development (later renamed as Research & Development) Division under Terumo BCT was formed in 2015 at Terumo Penpol which combined the R&D efforts on Disposables and Medical equipment. Subsequently a state-of-the-art Infrastructure and facility and a competent team was established to support global product development. Team work closely with Terumo BCT I&D centers at United States, Japan, Vietnam & Northern Ireland.

Awards

India R&D bagged prestigious awards from both Terumo BCT and Terumo Corporation. Terumo BCT Innovation award-2017was amongst all global sites of TerumoBCT and Bronzeprize of Terumo Global Award 2017-which was the highest award in Terumo Group for the remarkable achievements.
