As Chairman and Managing Director of Terumo Penpol, Padmakumar leads the entire India business operations. He is responsible for the commercial operations of the Terumo Penpol business, including domestic and export sales as well as the overall business administration of TPL. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Terumo Penpol.
With more than 29 years of experience in the medical device industry, Padmakumar has extensive experience in Sales, Marketing, Logistics, Procurement and Manufacturing. In previous roles he has managed the Clinicare Division of TTK Pharma Limited as Sales Manager and responsible for All India sales of medical devices. He has also worked in various capacities including Project management, Finance management, Human Resource, Factory management and Sales & Marketing management.
He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from Kerala University and his Post Graduate Degree in Management (MBA) from the Cochin University of Science and Technology, Cochin.

As president of Terumo Transfusion, Japan and the Asia Pacific, Hiroshi Nagumo leads direct sales, marketing and services and oversees APAC business operations.
With more than 26 years with Terumo, Nagumo has extensive experience in sales and marketing leadership. In previous roles he directed operations in Germany for Terumo Europe, managed medical products—including hospital disposable products—for a pan-European market, and worked with wound care products for Terumo-BSN Japan KK.
Nagumo earned his bachelor's degree from Dokkyo University in Japan.
Chockalingam Palaniappan, Ph.D.
Executive Vice President of Innovation and Development
Dr. Palaniappan, (known as Palani), has global responsibility for the strategic direction and execution of the following for Terumo BCT:
- I&D Project Management Office
- Ideation and New Technology Ventures
- Grants Management
- Process Engineering
- Product Development
- Regulatory Affairs
- Scientific and Clinical Affairs
Palani brings more than 25 years of experience in product and project development, engineering, scientific research, and global business and technology management.
Prior to joining Terumo BCT, Palani was the Vice President of Research and Development at Life Technologies, where he led the Cellular Analysis Division. He has also held leadership positions at GE Healthcare, Amersham Pharmacia Biotech and the University of Rochester.
Palani has contributed to 25 scientific journals and publications throughout his career. He earned his bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences from Annamalai University in Tamil Nadu, India, and his doctorate degree in biological sciences from Northern Illinois University. His post-doctoral research was completed at the University of Rochester, and was focused on the mechanism of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) replication and reverse transcriptase-mediated drug resistance in HIV.
Vice President of Global Manufacturing
Currently, as the Vice President of Global Manufacturing, Troy is responsible for factories in the US, Northern Ireland, Belgium, India, Vietnam and Japan. For over 15 years he has participated in Terumo BCT’s growth from a $150M business with one primary US based manufacturing location to a $1B business with factories around the world. Prior to joining Terumo BCT, he has 15 years of experience spanning all operations and engineering functions with a broad application of LEAN/SIX SIGMA principles, holding leadership positions at Wilkerson Corporation, Teledyne Water Pik Corporation, Aspen Ribbons Inc. and Frye Copysystems Inc.

Troy earned his Master of Business Administration; Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Vice President of Manufacturing (Eastern Hemisphere)
As the Vice President of Manufacturing (Eastern Hemisphere) for Terumo BCT, Neil Murphy has responsibility for TBCT factories in India, Vietnam and Japan. He has been in his current role since October, 2014. Prior to this role, Neil held the position of Director, Transfusion Factory Integration, and was responsible for integrating the Eastern Hemisphere factories into TBCT.
Prior to joining Terumo BCT, Neil has held various management roles in other Medical Device and Pharmaceutical companies, including Vitrolife Sweden AB and Thermo Biostar.
Neil has a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from West Chester University (PA), and a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Colorado.
